Traditional Slovakia recipes
The development of Slovak cuisine is related to its location and the history of this country. On the one hand, Slavic culinary traditions had a great influence, on the other hand, Austro-Hungarian influences from the 19th and early 20th centuries (Slovakia was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire). In the twentieth century, Czech cuisine also had a great influence (until 1992, they formed one country under the name "Czechoslovakia"). A significant part of Slovak cuisine comes from the country's agricultural traditions. At a time when most of the population lived in the countryside, they mainly used the local food resources.
