Ingredients

  • 1.5 l broth
  • 1 head of garlic
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp marjoram
  • A pinch of ground cumin
  • A pinch of ground pepper
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

1. Prepare vegetables

Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes. Finely chop the onion so it cooks evenly.

2. Cook the base

Melt butter in a pot and sauté the onion until light golden. This builds a gentle sweetness in the soup.

3. Add broth and spices

Pour in the broth and add potatoes, cumin, pepper and salt. Bring to a boil and cook for about 10 minutes.

4. Add garlic and marjoram

Crush the garlic and add it together with marjoram. Cook for a few more minutes until the potatoes are soft.

5. Serve

Serve hot. For extra flavor, place grated cheese or thin slices of ham at the bottom of the bowl before pouring in the soup.
